The Fourstroke 01 was designed specifically for podium finishers and combines modern BMC design with uncompromising performance developed in the Impec Lab. At the heart of the bike are the BMC APS suspension kinematics and the highly efficient, integrated Autodrop seatpost. They ensure efficiency and speed on any terrain. The premium carbon frame, featuring progressive geometry and 120 mm of travel at the front and rear, is optimised for modern XC racing. New for this year is the one-piece ICS Carbon XC cockpit. Thanks to its flexibility and compliance, it provides additional control and confidence. With an SRAM XX SL AXS Eagle drivetrain, an Öhlins RXC34 carbon fork, an Öhlins TXC2 Air rear shock and the tried-and-tested, lightweight DT Swiss XRC-1200 wheels, the bike is ready for racing.

Autodrop technology
Your new secret weapon is the first automatic, fully integrated seatpost that allows you to lower the seatpost at the touch of a button whilst racing, so you can be faster on the most technically demanding XC trails.

Optimised APS suspension
More traction means more speed, and that’s exactly what we’re after. Top-class kinematic tuning and unrivalled suspension performance ensure optimum traction, maximum efficiency and active suspension on any terrain.

Longer and further
This versatile marathon machine is a gold magnet. The Fourstroke 01 loves long distances. It has been optimised for two water bottles and offers 62 mm tyre clearance for modern 2.4" XC tyres.

Improved geometry
The BMC Race is tailored to a fast and progressive riding style. With an optimised 66.5˚ head angle and a long front end, you can tackle even the steepest and toughest trails.

This bike arrives (almost) fully assembled. All you need to do is straighten the handlebars and fit the pedals.

Safety information for bicycles, e-bikes and children’s bikes

The safe and long-term use of bicycles, e-bikes and children’s bicycles requires careful inspection, regular maintenance and proper handling. These guidelines provide practical advice on safe use and should be followed in conjunction with the manufacturer’s instruction manual.

1. Safety checks before riding

The following checks should be carried out before every ride :

Brakes and steering : Test that the brakes are working properly and ensure that the steering is smooth and stable.

Tyres and wheels : Check that the tyre pressure is correct and that the wheels and quick-release skewers are securely fastened.

Fittings : Check that fitted components such as mudguards, luggage racks, the saddle and pedals are securely fastened.

Accessories and loading : Ensure that luggage and accessories are correctly fitted and that the maximum load limit is not exceeded.

2. Technical safety and permitted use

Component inspection: Regularly check safety-critical components such as the frame, fork, handlebars, seat post and brakes for damage. Do not use the bicycle if there are any visible defects.

Maximum load capacity : Observe the weight restrictions for the total weight (bicycle, rider, load and, where applicable, trailer). You will find the specifications in the manufacturer’s information.

Proper use : Only use the bicycle or e-bike within the intended category of use. Improper use poses safety risks.

Accessories and modifications : Only use approved accessories such as child seats or trailers, and do not carry out any unauthorised modifications, particularly to the drive system of e-bikes.

3. Special notes for e-bikes

Battery and charging:

Only use batteries and chargers approved by the manufacturer.

Charge the battery in safe locations and in accordance with the temperature specifications.

Remove the battery before transporting the e-bike.

Electric assistance:

Familiarise yourself with the assistance modes and the push assist function. Test the e-bike first in a safe environment, particularly when carrying different loads or on difficult terrain.

Running in disc brakes:

Run in new brakes before your first long ride to ensure optimum braking performance.

Transport guidelines:

When transporting the bike, follow the manufacturer’s instructions and comply with legal regulations.

4. Special safety rules for children’s bicycles

Duty of supervision: Children must only use bicycles under the supervision of a responsible adult.

Suitable size and equipment : Ensure that the bicycle is age-appropriate and that all safety features (e.g. brakes, reflectors, chain guard) are in good working order.

Loading and accessories : Securely attach child seats and luggage racks, and take care not to exceed the load capacity.

5. Care and maintenance

Cleaning : Use a soft cloth and mild cleaning products. Avoid high-pressure washers to prevent damage to electrical and mechanical components.

Regular inspections : Schedule regular servicing with a qualified specialist to check for wear and tear and ensure safety.

Spare parts : Only use original or approved spare parts to maintain the bike’s functionality.

6. What to do after your ride

Document any damage : If there is any visible damage or malfunction, do not continue to use the bicycle. Have it checked by a specialist workshop.

Avoid hot components : Avoid contact with hot components such as brake discs or drive units to prevent burns.

Final notes

This safety information provides you with a comprehensive overview of the safe use of bicycles, e-bikes and children’s bikes. Always follow the manufacturer’s instruction manual and contact a specialist retailer if you have any questions. Safe and responsible use not only ensures your safety but also extends the service life of your bicycle.
