Who is the Cervelo Caledonia Rival Etap AXS for?

The Cervelo Caledonia Rival Etap AXS is perfect for riders looking for a versatile road bike that’s equally at home on long road stages and on more challenging, unpaved sections. If you’re looking for a bike that’s fast on tarmac but also offers enough comfort and stability to ride safely and comfortably on gravel roads, then the Caledonia Rival Etap AXS is the ideal choice. This bike is ideal for ambitious amateur cyclists and road bike enthusiasts who value performance and versatility.

Why choose the Cervelo Caledonia Rival Etap AXS?

The Cervelo Caledonia Rival Etap AXS offers an innovative blend of comfort, speed and versatility. Equipped with the latest SRAM Rival eTap AXS gear technology, a sturdy, lightweight frame and modern geometry, the Caledonia is the perfect bike for riders looking for more than just a typical road bike. It combines the speed of a classic road bike with the flexibility to tackle even challenging sections of road.

SRAM Rival eTap AXS groupset

The SRAM Rival eTap AXS offers you the latest wireless technology for precise and fast gear-changing performance. This electronic groupset enables lightning-fast gear changes with minimal effort. You always have the right gear at your fingertips, without having to struggle through fiddly shifting procedures. The wireless technology means less maintenance and greater reliability, as there are no cables to be affected by the weather or friction. With the eTap AXS groupset, you can even customise and optimise the gears via the AXS system – a huge improvement to your riding experience.

Lightweight and rigid carbon frame

The carbon frame of the Cervelo Caledonia Rival Etap AXS is both lightweight and extremely stiff, striking the perfect balance between speed and comfort. The frame has been designed to offer excellent shock absorption even on bumpy roads or light off-road sections, without compromising on stiffness or aerodynamic efficiency. This means you can enjoy maximum comfort and control at all times, whether you’re riding fast on the road or on less-than-perfect terrain.

Versatile geometry and comfort

The geometry of the Cervelo Caledonia Rival Etap AXS is among the best in its class, specifically tailored to the needs of riders who prefer both long distances and slightly more adventurous routes. The combination of a relatively flat head angle and a long wheelbase ensures plenty of comfort without compromising on performance. This means that even on long rides, you can always maintain a comfortable riding position on the Caledonia without losing control or stability. This versatile geometry makes the Caledonia an ideal companion for a variety of riding conditions.

This bike arrives (almost) fully assembled. All you need to do is straighten the handlebars and fit the pedals.

Fahrrad kam rechtzeitig und gut verpackt an. Die Schrauben waren größtenteils korrekt angezogen, die Schaltung und Bremse haben lediglich etwas Feinjustierung benötigt. Alles in allem super!

Important safety information

The most comprehensive overview of relevant safety information and warnings can be found in our bicycle user manual. Please visit the following link to view the full manual: Manual

We have listed a few important points for you below. Please note that this list is not exhaustive and we cannot guarantee its completeness .

1. Assembly and operation: Ensure that all components of the bicycle are fully assembled in accordance with the instruction manual at . Only use the bicycle if all bolts and nuts have been tightened to the specified torque. Read the user manual and all additional documentation carefully before using the bicycle for the first time.

2. Permissible load: Do not exceed the permissible total load of the bicycle, as this may lead to breakage or failure of key safety components . The braking system is designed only for the permissible total load.

3. Laws and regulations: Observe all local and national cycling laws and regulations. These include, amongst others, licensing, compulsory helmet use, child seats, cycling traffic laws, and regulations regarding lights and reflectors.

4. Bicycle registration: You must register your bicycle in order to make a warranty claim . Keep the user manual for future reference and consult your specialist dealer if you have any questions regarding assembly and maintenance.

5. Modifications and adjustments: Modifications to your bicycle’s components may compromise safety and invalidate the warranty. Not all components or accessories have been tested for compatibility and safety. Consult your specialist dealer before making any changes to your bicycle.

6. Chassis and suspension: Incorrect adjustment of the suspension can lead to malfunctions and increase the risk of losing control and having an accident. Check the suspension regularly for visible damage and have any leaks or damage repaired immediately by your specialist dealer.

7. Wheel safety: Do not ride with a wheel or axle that is not properly secured. This could cause the wheel to move or come loose from the bike, resulting in an accident. Consult the axle manufacturer’s instructions for correct installation.

8. Brake levers and seat adjustments: Ensure that you can reach the brake levers whilst your hands are positioned securely on the handlebars. A brake that is out of reach can lead to loss of control and an accident.

9. Disc brakes: Do not touch disc brakes or rotors immediately after use, as these become very hot and can cause burns. Allow them to cool completely before touching them.

10. Handlebars and head tube: Adjustments to the handlebar height should only be carried out by a specialist dealer. Incorrect installation may damage the fork steerer tube and cause an accident. Do not remove spacer rings from the fork steerer tube.

11. Rotor sizes: Observe the fork manufacturer’s rotor size restrictions. A rotor larger than recommended may compromise the fork, frame or other components and lead to an accident.

12. Handlebar grips and end caps: Use handlebar end caps to cover the ends of the handlebars . Uncovered handlebar ends can cause injuries in the event of an accident.

13. Saddle height adjustment: Incorrect saddle height adjustment can lead to falls, injuries and/or death. We recommend that all assembly and adjustment work be carried out by a specialist dealer.

14. Saddle clamp bolts: Failure to tighten the saddle clamp bolt in accordance with the recommendations of the seatpost manufacturer may damage the seat tube and cause an accident.

15. Saddle adjustment: A saddle that is not correctly adjusted or does not fit properly can lead to injuries to soft tissues, nerves and blood vessels. Symptoms include pain, tingling, numbness or soreness.

16. Air hoses at petrol stations: Do not use air hoses at petrol stations to inflate your tyres. These air hoses may give inaccurate pressure readings and inflate the tyres too quickly, which can lead to damage or tyre blowouts.

17. Tyre clearance: For front suspension forks, there must be at least 6 mm of tyre clearance when the air has been completely released from the fork and the fork is fully compressed. Measure around the edges of the inflated tyre and the fork crown, the fork legs and the head tube.

18. Luggage racks and trailers: The use of luggage racks or trailers may affect steering, suspension performance and other components, and increase braking distances. Do not overload the bicycle and ensure that luggage and rack components do not cover the lights or reflectors or come into contact with moving parts.

19. Maintenance intervals: Observe the maintenance intervals. These serve as a guideline for normal operation and may vary depending on conditions. Ensure that the bicycle is serviced in accordance with our specifications and that all maintenance work is documented. Components may fail if wear and damage are not identified in good time. In the event of an impact or an accident, consult your specialist dealer immediately for an inspection. Ensure that you carry out regular maintenance, frequent inspections and replace parts as required.
