2 Safety
2.1 Residual risks
2.1.1 Fire hazard
2.1.1.1 Overheated brakes
The brakes can become very hot during use. Touching them may result in burns or a fire.
Never touch the brakes or the motor immediately after riding.
Never place the bicycle on flammable surfaces (grass, wood, etc.) immediately after riding.
2.1.2 Risk of falling
2.1.2.1 Incorrect quick-release lever adjustment
Excessive clamping force will damage the quick-release mechanism, causing it to fail. Insufficient clamping force leads to the force being transmitted incorrectly. This can cause components to break. The result is a fall resulting in injury.
Never use a tool (e.g. a hammer or pliers) to secure a quick-release fastener.
Only use clamping levers with the clamping force set in accordance with the instructions.
2.1.2.2 Incorrect tightening torque
If a bolt is tightened too much, it may break. If a bolt is tightened too loosely, it may come loose. This can result in a fall causing injury.
Always observe the specified tightening torque indicated on the bolt or in the instructions.
2.1.3 Risk of amputation
The brake disc of the disc brake is so sharp that it can cause serious injuries to fingers if they get caught in the openings of the brake disc.
Always keep your fingers away from rotating brake discs.
2.2 Toxic substances
2.2.1 Brake fluid
Brake fluid may leak as a result of an accident or material fatigue. Brake fluid can be fatal if swallowed or inhaled.
Never dismantle the braking system.
Avoid skin contact.
Do not inhale vapours.
2.2.2 Suspension oil
The suspension oil in the rear shock and the fork irritates the respiratory tract, causes germ cell mutagenesis and sterility, causes cancer and is toxic on contact.
Never dismantle the rear shock or the suspension fork.
Avoid skin contact.
2.3 Requirements for the rider
The rider’s physical, motor and mental abilities must be sufficient to participate in road traffic.
2.4 Vulnerable groups:
If the bicycle is used by minors, a parent or guardian must provide children with thorough instruction.
2.5 Personal protective equipment
For protection, wear a suitable helmet, sturdy shoes and long, close-fitting clothing.

Never leave those affected unattended.
Remove any clothing contaminated with brake fluid immediately.
Never inhale vapours. Ensure adequate ventilation.
Wear gloves and safety goggles for protection.
