THE THRILL OF FEELING LIKE A HERO EVERY TIME YOU GO FOR A RIDE

The Dusty X Unlimited Gulf Edition is limited to just 50 units worldwide. Each one has been hand-painted with the utmost care, leaving no detail out and carefully incorporating the textures and colours of the racing suits worn by Gulf drivers over thousands of kilometres and laps.

Each of the 50 bikes comes with its own individual production number

,

as well as orange and blue paintwork and a fascinating book. A book that expresses the passion of both brands, Gulf’s racing heritage and the colours that are now also part of the legacy of the Mondraker Dusty X.

They were the heroes who took us on a journey through petrol and asphalt, driving racing cars that revved at over 8,000 rpm. Machines in which the cutting-edge technology of the 1970s was combined with sublime craftsmanship, hand-welded work and the magnificent fibreglass bodywork that encased the immensely powerful V12 engines, transforming them into works of art. All of this anchored in a rigid aluminium chassis designed to withstand unimaginable stresses. Those were different times. Times we miss.

Back then, being a racing driver meant being a hero. By default. The razor-sharp character of the cars they drove made them so. Well, cars for want of a better word. Ultra-light, extravagant, dangerous and precious all at once, they were extremely powerful machines without electronic aids to mask the shortcomings of the heroes of yesteryear. Hundreds of horsepower, tamed by the hands of men who turned into heroes the moment they put on their helmets.

The Dusty X Unlimited Gulf Edition is crafted from our high-quality Stealth Air carbon fibre and features a Mahle X20 hub motor and an internal 350 Wh battery (compatible with an additional 172 Wh range extender).

To better align the racing spirit of the Dusty X Unlimited with the urban jungle you’ll be navigating every day, we’ve integrated aluminium mudguards that match the frame’s colour scheme, as well as fast-rolling Maxxis Re-Fuse 700x40c semi-slick tyres.

The Dusty X Unlimited Gulf Edition is based on our Dusty RX model and has been enhanced with key, specific upgrades. The carbon handlebars are from the ONOFF S9 series and come with silicone grips, Mavic supplies the Cosmic SL carbon wheels with a 45 mm profile, and SRAM provides the Force AXS drivetrain with carbon cranks.

The Dusty X Unlimited Gulf Edition is our second Unlimited Gulf Edition model following the Neat Unlimited Gulf Edition.

This bike arrives (almost) fully assembled. All you need to do is straighten the handlebars and fit the pedals.

Safety information for bicycles, e-bikes and children’s bikes

Safe and long-term use of bicycles, e-bikes and children’s bikes requires careful checks, regular maintenance and proper handling. These guidelines provide practical recommendations for safe use and should be followed in conjunction with the manufacturer’s operating instructions.

1. Safety checks before riding

The following checks should be carried out before every ride :

Brakes and steering : Test that the brakes are working properly and ensure that the steering is smooth and stable.

Tyres and wheels : Check that the tyre pressure is correct and that the wheels and quick-release skewers are securely fastened.

Fittings : Check that attachments such as mudguards, luggage racks, saddles and pedals are securely fastened.

Accessories and load : Ensure that luggage and accessories are correctly fitted and that the permissible load limit is not exceeded.

2. Technical safety and permitted use

Component inspection: Regularly check safety-critical components such as the frame, fork, handlebars, seat post and brakes for damage. Do not use the bicycle if there are any visible defects.

Maximum load capacity : Observe the weight restrictions for the total weight (bicycle, rider, load and, if applicable, trailer). You will find the specifications in the manufacturer’s information.

Proper use : Only use the bicycle or e-bike within the intended category of use. Improper use leads to safety risks.

Accessories and modifications : Only use approved accessories such as child seats or trailers, and do not make any unauthorised modifications, particularly to the drive system of e-bikes.

3. Special instructions for e-bikes

Battery and charging:

Only use batteries and chargers approved by the manufacturer.

Charge the battery in safe locations and in accordance with the temperature specifications.

Remove the battery before transporting the e-bike.

Electric assistance:

Familiarise yourself with the assistance modes and the push assist. Test the e-bike first in a safe environment, particularly with varying loads or on difficult terrain.

Running-in disc brakes:

Run in new brakes before your first long ride to ensure optimum braking performance.

Transport guidelines:

When transporting the bike, follow the manufacturer’s instructions and comply with legal regulations.

4. Special safety rules for children’s bicycles

Duty of supervision: Children must only use bicycles under the supervision of a responsible adult.

Suitable size and equipment : Ensure that the bicycle is age-appropriate and that all safety features (e.g. brakes, reflectors, chain guard) are in good working order.

Loading and accessories : Securely attach child seats and luggage racks and ensure that the load capacity is not exceeded.

5. Care and maintenance

Cleaning : Use a soft cloth and mild cleaning agents. Avoid high-pressure washers to prevent damage to electrical and mechanical components.

Regular inspections : Schedule regular maintenance with a qualified specialist workshop to check for wear and tear and ensure safety.

Spare parts : Use only original or approved spare parts to maintain the bike’s functionality.

6. What to do after your ride

Document any damage : If there is visible damage or a malfunction, the bicycle must not be used any further. Have it checked by a specialist workshop.

Avoid hot components : Avoid contact with heated components such as brake discs or drive units to prevent burns.

Final notes

This safety information provides you with a comprehensive overview of the safe use of bicycles, e-bikes and children’s bikes. Always follow the manufacturer’s instructions for use and contact a specialist dealer if you have any questions. Safe and responsible use not only ensures your safety but also extends the life of your bike.
