The S5 sets new standards in terms of speed and aerodynamic efficiency - with impressive racing successes to prove it. From Wout van Aerts' superior win of the green jersey to Simon Yates' ride into the pink jersey at the Giro d'Italia, the iconic V-stem design and bayonet fork of the S5 have become an integral part of the world's top professional cyclists. The new generation of the S5 builds on this heritage - even faster, leaner and more efficient - making it the ultimate partner for the world's fastest riders.
The new S5 is over 6 watts faster than its predecessor, 124 grams lighter and retains the agile, stable handling that riders around the world appreciate. The biggest changes are at the front - where the aerodynamic effect is strongest: deeper fork stems, a more massive head tube area and a completely new one-piece handlebar stem system that takes the original V-stem idea and improves it further - for maximum efficiency in the wind.
Aero Aero Aero
The new S5 is 6.3 watts faster than its predecessor - and this increase in performance comes primarily from the revised front end. But the clever integration of the asymmetrical profiles of the seat tube and rear wheel also makes a decisive contribution to the improved aerodynamics. Cervélo has always been regarded as an aerodynamic pioneer in the peloton - and we are convinced that the new S5 is at least 5 watts faster than our competitors' bikes.
One-Piece Handlebar/Stem
The HB19 is based on our "Plus-Four" concept: the distance in the hoods is 4 cm narrower than in the drops - e.g. 38 cm in the hoods / 42 cm in the drops. This geometry enables a more aerodynamic body position when riding on the hoods and at the same time ensures maximum stability in the drops - ideal for descents and sprints. All handlebar sizes are UCI-compliant, also with regard to the latest rule changes.
Not just faster. Lighter too.
Despite a larger surface area, the new S5 is a whole 124 grams lighter than its predecessor. Although the deeper fork and the large head tube initially add a little more weight, we were able to make the overall system noticeably lighter thanks to an optimised carbon layup structure and revised hardware design.
This bike arrives (almost) fully assembled. All you have to do is straighten the handlebars and attach the pedals.

Important safety information
The most comprehensive overview of relevant safety information and warnings can be found at in our user manual for bicycles. Please visit the following link to view the manual in full: Manual
We have listed some important points for you below. Please note that this list is not complete and we cannot guarantee its completeness
1. Assembly and operation: Ensure that all components of the bike are fully assembled in accordance with the operating instructions. Only use the bike if all bolts/nuts have been tightened to the prescribed torque. Read the user manual and all additional documentation carefully before using the bike for the first time
2. Permissible load: Do not exceed the total permissible load of the bike, as this can lead to breakage or failure of important safety components . The brake system is only designed for the permissible total load
3. Laws and regulations: Observe all local and national bicycle laws and regulations. These include licensing, helmet requirements, child carrier seats, bicycle traffic laws and regulations for lighting and reflectors
4. Bicycle registration: You must register your bicycle in order to be able to make warranty claims . Keep the user manual for future references and consult your specialist dealer if you have any questions about assembly and maintenance
5. Modifications and adjustments: Modifications to the components of your bicycle may impair safety and invalidate the warranty. Not all components or accessories are tested for compatibility and safety. Consult your specialist dealer before making any changes to the bike
6. Chassis and suspension: Improper adjustment of the suspension can lead to malfunctions and increase the risk of loss of control and accidents. Check the suspension regularly for visible damage and have any leaks or damage repaired immediately by your specialist dealer
7. Wheel safety: Do not ride with an improperly secured wheel or axle. This can cause the wheel to move or detach from the bike and cause an accident. Consult the axle manufacturer's instructions for correct installation
8. Brake lever and seat adjustments: Make sure that you can reach the brake levers when your hands are securely positioned on the handlebars. A brake that cannot be reached can lead to loss of control and an accident
9. Disc brakes: Do not touch disc brakes and rotors immediately after use, as they become very hot and can cause burns. Allow them to cool down completely before touching them
10. Handlebars and head tube: Changes to the handlebar height should only be made by a specialist dealer. Improper installation can damage the fork head tube and cause an accident. Do not remove any spacer rings from the fork steering column
11. Rotor sizes: Observe the rotor size restrictions of the fork manufacturer. A larger rotor than recommended can damage the fork, frame or other components and cause an accident
12. Handlebar grips and plugs: Use handlebar end plugs to cover the ends of the handlebars . Uncovered handlebar ends can cause injuries in the event of an accident
13. Saddle height adjustment: Incorrect saddle height adjustment can lead to falls, injuries and/or death. We recommend having all assembly and adjustment work carried out by a specialist dealer
14. Seat clamp bolts: Failure to tighten the seat clamp bolt in accordance with the seat post manufacturer's recommendations can damage the seat tube and cause an accident
15. Seat adjustment: An incorrectly adjusted or ill-fitting saddle can lead to injuries to soft tissue, nerves and blood vessels. Symptoms include pain, tingling, numbness or soreness
16. Air hoses at petrol stations: Do not use air hoses at petrol stations to inflate tyres. These air hoses can have inaccurate pressure values and inflate the tyres too quickly, which can lead to damage or tyre bursts
17. Tyre clearance: For front forks, there must be at least 6 mm of tyre clearance when the air is completely deflated from the fork and fully compressed. Measure around the edges of the inflated tyre and the fork crown, the fork leg and the head tube
18. Luggage carriers and trailers: The use of luggage carriers or trailers can impair the steering, suspension performance and other components and increase the braking distance. Do not overload the bike and make sure that luggage and carrier parts do not cover the lights or reflectors or come into contact with moving parts
19. Maintenance intervals: Observe the maintenance intervals. These serve as a guideline for normal operation and may vary depending on the conditions. Ensure that the bike is maintained in accordance with our specifications and that all maintenance work is documented. Components can fail if wear and damage are not identified in time. In the event of a collision or accident, consult your dealer immediately for inspection. Ensure regular maintenance, frequent inspections and replacement of parts as required .
