Shimano’s EP801 e-drive is not only responsive and powerful, but also boasts a lightweight system that perfectly complements the agile geometry of the JAM² 7.9. You have two motor assistance profiles at your disposal, which you can customise entirely to suit your needs. This allows you to easily switch via the display between a smooth and continuous profile for your journey to the trail and a highly dynamic, progressive profile for the actual ride on the trail. It’s entirely up to you. What’s more, our specially developed, integrated yet removable 720 Wh battery supports you on your long rides. You can also charge your devices via a USB-C port on the top tube.
Optimised kinematics for powerful progression
With the F.O.L.D. kinematics of our JAM² 7 series, you can now really let rip on your JAM² 7.9. We’ve retained the popular sensitivity of the F.O.L.D., but altered the positioning of the kinematics within the frame to offer better resistance to bottoming out. The characteristic curve is fully progressive, ensuring a super-stable suspension system on rough terrain. E-MTBs in particular, with their extra weight from the motor and battery, benefit from the stronger progression. This feature allows you to tackle any trail, whilst the suspension still provides enough comfort for long trail rides. What’s more, a lower standover height gives you more freedom to play on the trail with your JAM² 7.9.

Riding performance is our top priority. With the JAM² 7.9, every ride will be more fun. An agile, manoeuvrable geometry combined with a sleek, compact design lets you fly over any trail, whether technical or flowing. With the FLIP CHIP on your JAM² 7.9’s head tube, you can adjust your geometry for an even more aggressive riding style. This small adjustment to the head angle – from 65.5° to 65° – transforms your set-up for even more downhill potential. In addition, the specially developed C.I.S. design ensures a clean look around the cockpit and guarantees flawless shifting and braking at all times.
This bike arrives (almost) fully assembled. All you need to do is straighten the handlebars and fit the pedals.

Schnäppchen im Doppelpack
Obwohl wir etwas gebrannte Kinder von zwei Vorgänger-Jam² 7.9 aus 2022 waren, konnten wir bei dem Preis und bei dieser Ausstattung nicht nein sagen.
Mit dem Vorgänger aus 2022 hatten wir unsere liebe Müh' und Not. Offenkundig in Hochzeiten der Coronaepedemie lieblos und schnell zusammengefrickelt, hatten die "alten" 7.9 teils bizarre Qualitätsmängel, die stellenweise lebensgefährlich waren (ungeschmierte Lenkkopfflager, nicht angezogene Schrauben an der Schwinge und an den Motoren, falsch montierte Speedsensoren, gequetschte Verkabelungen usw. usf.). Andererseits haben uns die Räder vier mal über teils sehr anspruchsvolle Alpencross getragen (nur Trails), sind viele tausend Kilometer mit nur einem Totalausfall gelaufen (Speedsensor defekt) und haben ihren Job nach Beseitigung der vielen Mängel ordentlich erledigt. Also wollten wir der von mit stets geschätzten Marke noch einmal eine Chance geben und der Preis hat die Entscheidung leichter gemacht.
Die neuen Bikes in "S" und "XL" kamen (wie gewohnt von Statera) in tadellosem Zustand an, woran die aufmerksame und sehr fixe Spedition sicher auch einen großen Anteil hat. Eine Kleinigkeit hat beim "XL" gefehlt, das wird nachgeliefert. Der Zusammenbau geht in Minuten, wenn man keine zwei linken Hände hat. Alle wichtigen Schrauben haben das vogeschriebene Drehmoment, ich hab's aus den oben genannten Gründen (alte Erfahrung) überpüft :-).
Die Ausstattung ist über jeden Zweifel erhaben. Verbaut sind ausnahmslos 2026er-Factory-Komponenten von Fox. Der Hinterreifen ist kein Big Betty wie in der Beschreibung angegeben, sondern ein Hans Dampf in der Super-Trail ADDIX-Soft-Variante. Ist o.k. kann ich gut mit leben, der war zuletzt auch auf den alten Jam² 7.9 drauf. Die XT Di2 ist top eingestellt und war auf Anhieb fahrbereit.
Obwohl das Bike angeblich dieselbe Geometrie wie der Vorgänger hat, ist es in der neuen Variante einen Ticken aufrechter in der Sitzposition und damit auch etwas bequemer. An den Spacern am Vorbau kann es nicht liegen, irgendetwas wurde am Rahmen doch verändert. Das bestätigt auch die Gattin, die die Variante in "S" fährt.
Fazit:
Zu diesem Preis (Ende Juni '26) bekommt man ein hervorragend ausgestattetes Allmountain-EMTB. Für sehr anspruchsvollen Downhill oder Enduro und Bikepark ist das nicht gemacht, dem steht das doch erhebliche Gewicht etwas entgegen, das die Agilität etwas einschränkt (in XL 26,3 Kg, mit leichten Crankbrothers-Pedalen und Syntace-Carbonlenker, in "S" 25.2 Kg). Ja, das ist 2026 etwas old school, aber andererseits hat der "Volvo" enorme Laufruhe und taugt auch auf Grund seiner Geometrie für sehr lange Touren.
Ein wenig Manschetten habe ich noch, was den EP801 und seine bekannte Macke mit dem Drehmomentsensor betrifft. Zumal sich abzeichnet, dass sich Shimano komplett aus dem Motoren-Segment verabschiedet. Andererseits habe ich vom deutschen Shimano-Stützpunkthändler die Zusage, dass es ggf. Ersatz und Teile noch viele Jahre geben wird. Ich hoffe, dass ich das nie in Anspruch nehmen muss.

Sehr gute Komponenten, perfekt abgestimmt
Das Fahrrad ist ein absolutes Highlight. Jede einzelne Komponente ist auf einem Topniveau, egal ob das Fox Factory Fahrwerk oder die Schaltung/Bremsen/Motor Kombination. Vor allem die elektronische Schaltung in Verbindung mit dem dazupassenden Motor harmoniert perfekt. Meine Frau verwendet nur den Automatikmodus und freut sich, dass sie sich nicht um das richtige Schalten etc. kümmern muss.

Ich hätte es nicht für möglich gehalten so ein Bike zu einem solchen Preis zu bekommen

Schönes Bike und ein wirklich guter Shop – klare Empfehlung!
Ich habe mir vor kurzem das Focus Jam² 7.9 mit Shimano EP801 Motor und 720Wh Akku gekauft und bin bisher wirklich sehr zufrieden.
Die Lieferung lief absolut unkompliziert und das Bike kam schnell und gut verpackt bei mir an. Der Aufbau war problemlos, sodass ich direkt loslegen konnte.
Nach den ersten rund 200 Kilometern kann ich sagen: Das Bike fährt sich einfach top. Der Shimano EP801 Motor bietet ordentlich Power, reagiert feinfühlig und macht sowohl auf Anstiegen als auch auf technischen Trails richtig Spaß. Der große 720Wh Akku sorgt zudem für eine starke Reichweite, sodass auch längere Touren kein Problem sind.
Verarbeitung und Komponenten wirken hochwertig und zuverlässig.
Alles in allem bin ich wirklich happy mit dem Kauf und kann das Bike bisher absolut weiterempfehlen.

super ausgestattet zum unschlagbaren Preis
Das Rad ist ein Trail-Enduro eAMTB mit aktuellem Fox-Factory Fahrwerk und Shimano Motor-/Bremsen-/eSchaltungs-Combo.
Auf die elektrische Schaltung muss man sich definitiv einlassen, wenn man viele Jahre manuell gefahren ist. Das Shimano-Gesamtpaket funktioniert dann aber richtig gut 😌
Die XT-4-Kolben-Bremsen stehen der XT-Schaltung in nichts nach und sind echte Wurfanker.
An meinem Bike waren 2026er Fox-Komponenten verbaut, damit hatte ich nicht gerechnet. Mit der 2026er Factory 36 muss ich erst noch richtig klarkommen, da sie sehr wettbewerbsorientiert ist und dafür wenig Komfort bietet 😊
Der bei mir verbaute Fizik-Sattel ist wohl deutlich besser, als der in der Beschreibung angegebene, am Hinterrad war ein Schwalbe Hand Dampf aufgezogen.
Mit 185cm Körpergröße und langem Oberkörper ist Größe L für mich ok, der Vorbau könnte vielleicht 1-2cm länger sein.
Alles in Allem (m)ein Spaßgerät für sehr viele Gelegenheiten.

Vše funguje, jak má. Kolo jsem objednal a zaplatil přes Revolut, odeslali jej za dva dny. Bohužel neposílají do CZ, tak jsem založil účet u "zNemecka.eu", kam kolo za dva dny dorazilo. Vše je v naprostém pořádku. Specifikace odpovídá popisu. Pouze místo BigBetty je na zadním kole HansDampf - což je ale lepší volba a změna k lepšímu.
Kolo má špičkovou výbavu a za tu cenu (pod 4000€) je to skvělý kup. Doporučuji 👍.

Super Bike zum Spitzenpreis.
Das Bike habe ich nach Bestellung am 11.8 am 15.8 von der Spedition übergeben bekommen. Einwandfreie Abwicklung mit Statera und H von Wirth.
Das Bike kam so verpackt an wie es Focus Kalkhoff nach der Produktion gemacht hat.
Alles dabei inkl. Rahmenschutzfolie und Notpedale. Auch die Ausstattung des Bikes passt und die Ersparnis ist real.
Meine Größe, 172cm ich habe M bestellt. Passt.
Bin mit dem Bike überaus zufrieden, ich habe nur Pedale, Lenker und den Schalthebel gegen Besseres getauscht.

I. Your specialist
dealerDo not use the e-bike until your specialist dealer has adjusted it to your requirements and tightened all screws to the specified torque. Ask
your specialist dealer
to show you how to operate the e-bike.
Contact your specialist dealer if you are unable to carry out the work described in the manuals on your e-bike yourself, if you feel unsure, or if you do not have the correct tools.

Contact our Customer Care team if you have any questions about your e-bike and the user manuals or your authorised dealer are unable to help you.
III. Before your first ride
: Only use the e-bike if you are certain that it is functioning correctly, all parts are fully operational and all bolts have been tightened to the correct torque.
Familiarise yourself with the markings on your e-bike. Do not remove the barcode sticker or the type plate. They contain important information about your e-bike >> see the original user manual, General, Chapter 10.4 Barcode Sticker and Chapter 10.5 Type Plate.
Only use the e-bike in accordance with our specifications. Otherwise, components may fail and you could suffer serious injury.
Observe the restrictions of the specified usage class. You can find out which usage class your e-bike is approved for by referring to the diagram on the e-bike frame >> see the original operating instructions, General, Chapter 10.7 ‘Intended Use’.
Do not exceed the permissible total weight (total weight = e-bike weight + rider’s weight + payload + trailer) >> see the original operating instructions, General, Chapter 12: Permissible Total Weight.
Please observe our guidelines on the transport of passengers and loads >> see the original operating instructions, General, Chapter 31: Luggage.
Do not exceed the load capacity of the front and rear luggage racks. The maximum load capacity is engraved on the luggage racks >> see the original operating instructions, General, Chapter 30: Luggage Racks.
The fitting of child seats on luggage racks of pedelecs with a load capacity of less than 27 kg is not permitted. On our MIK HD luggage racks, the use of child seats with the MIK HD system may be permitted. If you have any questions regarding this, be sure to consult your specialist dealer or the child seat manufacturer.
Do not make any modifications to the e-bike’s drive system. If the cut-off speed exceeds 25 km/h and/or the speed of the push assist exceeds 6 km/h, your e-bike will be subject to registration and insurance requirements >> see the original operating instructions, General, Chapter 7: Legal requirements for use on public roads.
Do not exceed the service life of the components.
Observe the legal regulations applicable in the relevant country regarding the use of the e-bike on public roads and equip your e-bike in accordance with the legal requirements of the country in which you intend to ride >> see the original operating instructions, General, Chapter 7. Legal requirements for use on public roads.
Observe the guidelines issued by the relevant authorities, transport companies and the operating instructions regarding the transport of e-bikes. Remove the battery before transporting the e-bike >> see the original operating instructions, General, Chapter 32. Transporting the bike.
Familiarise yourself with the operation of quick-release mechanisms and thru-axles. Quick-release mechanisms and thru-axles must be correctly secured. If you are unsure, ask your specialist dealer to show you how to use them >> see the original user manual, General, Chapter 27: Wheels and Chapter 17.1.2: Securing with quick-release skewers.
The seat post must be inserted at least 10 cm deep into the seat tube. The minimum insertion depth of 10 cm applies even if lower minimum insertion depths are specified in the component manuals or on the seat post itself. If a greater minimum insertion depth is specified (e.g. 12 cm), this must be observed.
To begin with, familiarise yourself with the bike’s handling and braking behaviour, as well as the electric assistance modes and the push assist (if fitted), particularly under varying load conditions, in wet conditions and on loose surfaces >> see the original operating instructions, General, Chapter 14. Before your first ride and >> see the original e-bike operating instructions, Chapter ‘Drive Unit – Operation’ and Chapter ‘Display – Push Assist’.
If you have purchased an e-bike with disc brakes, ensure that the brakes have been bedded in before your first long ride. This break-in process is designed to achieve optimum braking performance and minimise unpleasant noises.
IV. Before every ride >> see the original operating instructions, General, Chapter 15: Before every ride.
Before every ride, check in particular :
the frame, fork, handlebars/stem assembly, seat post, saddle and drive unit for any damage.
Check that the brakes, steering, drive unit and lights are working correctly.
Check that the handlebars, stem, seat post, saddle, wheels, mudguard, quick-release mechanisms and pedals are securely fastened
,
and check
the tyre pressure. This must not be too high or too low.
If the e-bike is damaged (e.g. bent components, cracks, scratches or discolouration in high-stress areas) or is malfunctioning, have it repaired by your specialist dealer and have any defective components replaced before using it again.
V. After your ride
: Take care not to burn yourself when touching hot components (e.g. brake discs, drive unit, headlight).
VI. Charging and using the battery >> see the original e-bike user manual, chapter ‘Battery’
Use only undamaged and unmodified batteries and chargers.
Observe the guidelines for charging and using the battery, particularly with regard to ambient temperature and the location where charging takes place.
VII. Cleaning >> see the original operating instructions, General, Chapter 34: Cleaning the bicycle and its components
. Do not clean the e-bike or its components with a high-pressure washer.
VIII. Assembly and adjustment work
Switch
off the e-bike whilst carrying out assembly and adjustment work and remove the e-bike battery.

Never clamp the saddle in the curved sections of the seat post; always clamp it in the straight section. Move the saddle only within the straight section and within the marked area. Tighten the clamping bolts straight and fully into the nuts >> see the original operating instructions, General, Chapter 18: Adjusting saddle position and tilt.

Do not open the electronic components.
When replacing structural and wear parts, use only original spare parts. In addition to original spare parts, compatible parts expressly approved by us may also be used. Your specialist dealer can assist you with any questions you may have.

Have the e-bike checked and serviced regularly by a specialist dealer in accordance with our specifications to avoid hazards (e.g. due to wear and tear).
The first service should be carried out no later than 100 kilometres or six weeks after the date of purchase. Please have subsequent maintenance carried out every 1,000 km or annually.
Replace the seat post after 14,000 kilometres (maintenance interval 8), unless the seat post manufacturer specifies a different interval in their instructions. The component must be replaced regardless of the material and regardless of whether any defects, cracks or damage are visible from the outside. If the seatpost is not replaced in good time, it may break and cause you to have a serious fall.
