2 Security
2.1 Residual risks
2.1.1 Fire hazard
2.1.1.1 Overheated brakes
The brakes can become very hot during operation. Contact with them may result in burns or fire.
Never touch the brakes or motor immediately after riding.
Never place the bicycle on flammable surfaces (grass, wood, etc.) immediately after riding.
2.1.2 Risk of falling
2.1.2.1 Incorrect adjustment of quick release
Excessive tension will damage the quick release, causing it to malfunction. Insufficient tension will result in unfavourable force transmission. This can cause components to break. The result is a fall with injuries.
Never use a tool (e.g. hammer or pliers) to tighten a quick release.
Only use clamping levers with the clamping force set in accordance with the regulations.
2.1.2.2 Incorrect tightening torque
If a screw is tightened too much, it may break. If a screw is tightened too loosely, it may come loose. This could result in a fall and injury.
Always observe the specified tightening torque on the screw or in the instructions.
2.1.3 Risk of amputation
The brake disc of the disc brake is so sharp that it can cause serious injuries to fingers if they get caught in the openings of the brake disc.
Always keep fingers away from rotating brake discs.
2.2 Toxic substances
2.2.1 Brake fluid
Brake fluid may leak as a result of an accident or material fatigue. Brake fluid can be fatal if swallowed or inhaled.
Never dismantle the brake system.
Avoid skin contact.
Do not inhale vapours.
2.2.2 Suspension oil
The suspension oil in the rear shock absorber and fork irritates the respiratory tract, causes germ cell mutagenesis and sterility, causes cancer and is toxic on contact.
Never disassemble the rear shock absorber or the suspension fork.
Avoid skin contact.
2.3 Requirements for the rider
The rider's physical, motor and mental abilities must be sufficient to participate in road traffic.
2.4 Vulnerable groups:
If the bicycle is used by minors, a parent or guardian must thoroughly instruct children.
2.5 Personal protective equipment
For protection, wear a suitable helmet, sturdy shoes and long, close-fitting clothing.

2.7 Behaviour in an emergency
2.7.1 Dangerous situations in road traffic
In all dangerous situations in road traffic, use the brakes to bring the bicycle to a complete stop.
2.7.2 Leaked brake fluid
If brake fluid leaks, the brake system must be repaired immediately. Dispose of leaking brake fluid in an environmentally friendly manner and in accordance with legal regulations.
Remove affected persons from the danger zone and bring them into the fresh air.
Never leave affected persons unattended.
Immediately remove clothing contaminated with brake fluid.
Never inhale vapours. Ensure adequate ventilation.
Wear gloves and safety goggles for protection.
Keep unprotected persons away.
Beware of the risk of slipping on spilled brake fluid.
Keep open flames, hot surfaces and ignition sources away from spilled brake fluid.
Avoid contact with skin and eyes.
After inhalation
Provide fresh air. If symptoms persist, seek medical attention immediately.
After skin contact
Wash affected skin with soap and water and rinse thoroughly. Remove contaminated clothing. Consult a doctor if you experience any discomfort.
After eye contact
Rinse eyes for at least 10 minutes under running water with eyelids open, including under the eyelids. If symptoms persist, consult an ophthalmologist immediately.
After swallowing
Rinse mouth with water. Never induce vomiting. Risk of aspiration!
If a person is vomiting and lying on their back, place them in the recovery position. Consult a doctor immediately.
Environmental protection measures
Never allow brake fluid to enter the sewage system, waterways or groundwater.
If it enters the soil, waterways or sewage system, notify the relevant authorities.
If you experience any symptoms due to combustion gases or leaking fluids, consult a doctor immediately.
2.7.3 Spilled lubricants and oils from the fork
Dispose of lubricants and oils leaking from the fork in an environmentally friendly manner and in accordance with legal regulations.
